The speed, the rhythms, the density of notes, and the (rough) location on the audio spectrum of the lead instrument of "Hard on the Heels" immediately reminded me of this North Macedonian folk song, "Piperkovo Oro". The recording of the song that I am familiar with is actually by a different artist, the legendary clarinetist Tale Ognenovski, but I cannot find his rendition on youtube, so I found this other one by Blagojce Trajkovski, which is quite good.
